Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The issue of national reunification should be solved independently by the concerted efforts of the Koreans in the north and the south according to the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and in the spirit of "By our nation itself" as clarified in those declarations no matter how the situation on the Korean Peninsula may change in the future. This is the invariable principled stand and assertion of the DPRK.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes this in a signed article.

In order to independently solve the issue of national reunification by the concerted efforts of the Koreans, all of them should firmly adhere to the principle of national independence and unite under the banner of patriotism and national reunification.

Any attempt to settle the internal issue of the nation by depending upon foreign forces instead of working hard to solve it by the concerted efforts of the Koreans would lead the nation to ruin.

The Lee Myung Bak group in south Korea are behaving so disgustingly as to make eyes at the U.S., becoming more vocal about the "traditional alliance" with it than ever before in the wake of the recent "presidential election" there.

Quite clear is the ulterior aim sought by the puppets in their noisy trumpeting about the "traditional alliance" with the U.S. It is, in a word, to perpetuate the division of Korea for an indefinite period and prolong their remaining days as politicians by leaving the issue of inter-Korean relations, the national issue, to the tender mercy of foreign forces and meeting their interests.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration serve as the banners which the Koreans should hold aloft to achieve the independent national reunification. If there be any force opposed to them, it is none other than the south Korean conservative ruling forces in league with foreign aggressor forces.

Their shameful talk about "dialogue," "sincerity" and "co-existence and co-prosperity" is no more than sophism intended to cover up such acts of treachery as bedeviling the inter-Korean relations, standing in the way of achieving reconciliation and cooperation with the north and working hard to bring a nuclear disaster to this land in league with foreign forces.

All the Koreans in the north and the south and overseas should wage a dynamic just and patriotic struggle for independent reunification, peace and prosperity under the banner of national independence and thus build a prosperous reunified power on this land of three thousand ri without fail.
