Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- The Headquarters for Actions of the 16th-term south Korean Federation of University Student Councils made public a statement on Nov. 15 in denunciation of the puppet authorities' reckless suppression of the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea under the pretence of "security".
The statement accused the police of arresting the co-chairman and the general secretary of the solidarity on Nov. 13 for the mere reason that they led protests against the U.S. beef import, after branding them as "elements behind" those actions.
The authorities' talk about "a force behind protest actions" is nothing but a retaliation against the candlelight actions and a reckless move to stifle the progressive forces, it noted, and went on:
The authorities can never stifle the progressive forces through such reckless suppression under the pretext of "security" as what was perpetrated in the past period of military dictatorial regimes nor can they break the will of the people through the crackdown upon a few organizations and personages.
Such resentment expressed by the people at Lee Myung Bak was not attributable to "the behind-the-scene wire-pulling" by someone but he was to blame for it. This is the expression of the will of the people who emerged a master of the new era, aspiring after independence and democracy.
The People's Solidarity for Abolition of the "National Security Law" released a statement on the same day denouncing the puppet authorities' repeated suppression of the Socialist Workers' Federation.
