Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes this in a signed commentary. It says:
The Lee Myung Bak group's campaign for indiscriminately arresting progressive people is an intolerable fascist action to disunite and stamp out the progressive forces in south Korea and revive the fascist dictatorial rule in all fields.
The progressive forces in south Korea have done nothing guilty.
The fascists, however, have considered the progressive organizations which have taken the lead in the struggle for independence, democracy and reunification as thorns in their flesh. They have indiscriminately suppressed them, groundlessly talking about "forces behind" the candlelight demonstrations.
The Lee group's suppression of the progressive forces is not merely aimed to arrest a few core members of their organizations. Through the recent case the traitorous clique glaringly revealed its criminal design to revive the past fascist dictatorial rule in all fields of south Korea and brutally suppress at the point of bayonet the people in their mass advance for independence, democracy and national reunification against the U.S.
All the successive traitorous rulers of south Korea met miserable ends for working with bloodshot eyes to suppress people by brandishing swords for dictatorship. For the above-said rulers to revive fascist dictatorship is as foolish an act as precipitating their doom.
The Lee Myung Bak group are bound to meet stern punishment of history for swimming against the trend of the times, dead-set against the demands of the nation.
