Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Labor Party and the People's Emergency Action for Defending Democracy and Checking Suppression of Candlelight Actions in south Korea held a seminar in Seoul on November 20 at which they exposed and condemned the danger of traitor Lee Myung Bak group's moves to reinforce the "National Intelligence Service".
Speakers at the seminar accused the Lee Myung Bak "government" and the "Grand National Party" of trying to railroad through the "National Assembly" the "bill on the revision of the law on National Intelligence Service" and four other bills aimed at drastically expanding the scope of activities of the NIS.
The above-said moves were prompted by the calculation of the present regime and the GNP that they can stay in power only when they reinforce the security organs, aware of the ruling crisis triggered off by the strong candlelight resistance of people from all walks of life against the import of American beef, they noted, and continued:
The present ruling forces seek to build the NIS into tyrannical repressive organ just as the past fascist dictatorial regimes had maintained their power by striking terror into the hearts of the people and intensifying the suppression of them through the "Central Intelligence Agency" and the "Security Planning Board".
If even one of these bills is allowed to pass through the NA, the NIS will ride roughshod over the people with unlimited power and remain in force only for the sake of Lee Myung Bak, they warned.
They stressed the need to brand the Lee Myung Bak "government" keen to revive the repressive organs dating back to the past period of fascist dictatorship as a dictatorial regime and intensify the actions against it.
