Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- There is truth that has taken deep roots in the hearts of the Korean people who are greeting the 70th anniversary of the historical Nanpaizi Meeting.
It is the indomitable revolutionary spirit of President Kim Il Sung who accomplished the cause of national liberation by brightly lighting the path ahead of the Korean revolution, convinced of the victory of the revolution even in grim circumstances.
Rigorous was the situation created in the latter half of the 1930's.
After the Mt. Paektu base was formed, the anti-Japanese armed struggle and organizations of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland rapidly grew in scale and the Korean revolution was brought to a great upswing by operations of advance into the homeland including the Battle at Pochonbo. Scared by this, the Japanese imperialists got more frantic in large-scale "punitive" operations against the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and in the suppression and massacre of patriotic people.
It was against this background that a meeting of military and political cadres of KPRA was held under the guidance of the President in Nanpaizi, Mengjiang County, from November 25 to December 6, Juche 27 (1938).
The President made the historical speech "Let Us Break through Prevailing Difficulties and Continuously Advance the Revolution" at the meeting.
The speech served as a highly important guiding principle in which he clearly indicated a revolutionary line for leading the Korean revolution to a sustained upsurge, forcing the way through difficulties in the revolution.
The President in the speech set forth tasks to adhere firmly to the independent stand in the revolution and evaluate the situation correctly and for KPRA units to swiftly advance to the border area around Mt. Paektu and conduct military and political activities.
He also indicated detailed tasks for KPRA units to undertake brisk mass political work along with military activities and for reorganizing the KPRA forces to suit their vigorous military and political activities under the new strategic and tactical policy.
He said all the commanding personnel and fighters should give full play to the indomitable revolutionary spirit and strictly ensure the unity and cohesion of the ranks based on revolutionary comradeship to successfully fulfill the difficult revolutionary duties raised by the demands of the prevailing situation and thoroughly defend the interests of the people. He urged the KPRA and the people to be fused in one body in the fight against the Japanese imperialists.
The Nanpaizi Meeting, a historical one at which the President set forth a new strategic and tactical policy on the Korean revolution, marked a significant milestone in providing a guarantee for broadening and developing the anti-Japanese armed struggle still further.
