Pyongyang, November 27 (KCNA) -- Much effort is directed to research into developing remote-controlled hydro-meteorological observation facilities in the DPRK.
The Hydro-meteorological Gauge Institute under the Hydro-Meteorological Service has invented a remote-controlled water-level gauge which can measure the change of water level accurately.
The new gauge, which is paying off where it has been introduced, is applicable not only to the measurement of water level in barrages and reservoirs but also to the measurement of liquid level in the food processing and chemical industries and in water or fuel oil tanks.
Scientists of the institute have also developed a remote-controlled rainfall gauge.
Its development makes it possible to put the precipitation measurement on a scientific basis and ensure accuracy of the forecast of rainfall.
Its trial application proved it convenient and reliable in automatic measurement.
The institute continues to deepen researches for promoting national economic development by ensuring scientific accuracy and swiftness of hydro-meteorological observation.
