Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Peasants' action was staged in Seoul on November 25 to denounce traitor Lee Myung Bak's unpopular agricultural policy.
A national meeting was held in Youido to oppose south Korea-U.S. FTA, win vital rights of agricultural and livestock producers and fishermen and realize food sovereignty with members of 34 peasants organizations of south Korea including the Federation of Peasant Associations and the Federation of Women Peasants Associations and representatives of civic and public organizations of all strata, at least 20,000 in all, attending.
Speakers at the meeting accused the "government" of working hard to conclude the FTA with the U.S. at any cost, pursuant to the neo-liberal agricultural policy.
If the "government" concludes the FTA without taking any measure for guaranteeing the vital rights of the peasants, it will not escape protest and denunciation of the people, they warned.
A resolution read out at the meeting accused the Lee Myung Bak "government" and the "Grand National Party" of pursuing policies whereby everything wrong is done, disregarding agriculture and demanded an immediate stop to the moves to conclude the FTA.
