Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- DPRK boxer Kim Hyang Ok bagged a gold medal in the 50kg match of the 5th World Women's Boxing Championships held in China from Nov. 22 to 29.
The championships drew women boxers from at least 40 countries and regions.
She defeated all her rivals with overwhelming edges in the preliminary games. She beat her Chinese rival 6-5 in the quarter-finals and her Philippine rival 7-3 in the semi-finals and her Russian rival 9-2 in the finals.
Meanwhile, Jong Ok and Ri Suk Yong won bronze medals in the 46kg and 66kg matches of the championships respectively.
