Workers' Rally Held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- The Federation of south Korean Trade Unions held a workers' rally of south Korea in Seoul on November 29 in protest against the puppet authorities' moves to make a retrogressive revision of "the law on the part-time job" with at least 100,000 unionists affiliated to it attending.

The federation in a resolution adopted at the rally condemned the "government" and the management side for trying to make a retrogressive revision of the said law as evidenced by their moves to extend the period of hiring part-timers to four years from two years, etc.

It also accused them of working hard to enact an evil law aimed at suspending the payment of wages to union leaders and, at the same time, driving the workers' living to destitution through a unilateral restructuring.

If the "government" is seeking to inflict pain upon the workers only under the pretext of economic crisis, they will meet the resistance of 16 million workers, the federation warned.

Holding that the unpopular labor policy should be totally rolled back, the federation demanded the authorities stop their moves to make a retrogressive revision of the said law and the restructuring.

Earlier, the Confederation of Taxi Drivers' Unions and the Federation of Banking Workers Unions of south Korea separately held a meeting and a rally for the general advance of financial workers in denunciation of the moves of the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors.
