All Koreans Called upon to Achieve Great National Unity

Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- All Koreans in the north and the south and overseas should firmly unite as one irrespective of ideology and ism in order to achieve the reunification of the country as early as possible as required by the June 15 era of reunification and their desire.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a signed article.

The issue of great national unity presents itself as a quite natural and essential requirement of the movement for national reunification, a movement for reunifying the Korean nation divided by outside forces.

The development of this movement would be unthinkable without the great national unity as it is a basic precondition for independent and peaceful reunification and its essential element.

The cause of national reunification is a nationwide cause of independence as it can be achieved only through the concerted efforts of the Koreans.

It is possible to successfully achieve the reunification of the country only when all Koreans unite close as one under the banner of the great national unity as a driving force for national reunification and increase it in every way.

The wisdom, will and energy of all Koreans united as one serve as an engine for developing the movement for national reunification. They can dynamically advance the above-mentioned movement, foiling the vicious anti-reunification moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad only when they place the interests common to the nation above all, pushing aside the differing ideology, ism and system, and go united on this basis.

The stirring reality of the June 15 era of reunification making a dynamic advance under the banner of "By our nation itself" clearly proves that no one can overpower the concerted efforts of the Koreans and these efforts serve as an engine propelling the movement for national reunification.

The nation's process for achieving reconciliation and unity is undergoing a trial due to the traitorous and anti-reunification moves of the above-said separatist forces.

This grave situation more urgently calls for regarding great national unity as an important task of the movement for national reunification and thoroughly implementing it than ever before.

Nothing can match the might of the united nation and irresistible is the progress of the nationwide movement for national reunification advancing in firm unity under the banner of national independence and patriotism.
