Japanese Reactionaries' Clumsy Effort Ridiculed

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Japanese government on November 20 worked out a "bill on special measures for activities to combat piracy" aimed at dispatching escorts of the Maritime "Self-Defense Force" and, on this basis, decided to adopt it as a formal law at the regular Diet session next year. Minju Joson today observes in a signed commentary in this regard: Japan is getting so zealous in the international operations to combat piracy, prompted by its carefully calculated scenario. If Japan is allowed to get involved in the international operations to combat piracy, it will provide huge troops of the SDF with a legitimate justification to advance not only into the Indian Ocean but into the Atlantic and the possibility to conduct military actions as they please, firing artillery pieces together with multi-national forces, as they have long been legally hindered and bound to the domestic legislation. It is as clear as noonday that this will lead to the exercise of the "right to exercise collective self-defense" and full use of armed forces overseas which the Japanese reactionaries have desired for such a long time. That is why they are getting so busy with the above-said moves. Japan pretends to do something for the development of the international community, behaving itself attractively to everybody with a crafty smile on its face. But it cannot conceal its wicked intention to meet its own interests. What the international community wants Japan to do is for it to opt for the settlement of its past crimes as demanded by international justice and human conscience, not unnecessarily poking its nose into other's affairs. The claim of Japan that it can do something even without liquidating its past crimes only sounds hypocritical and deceptive to the international community. It had better bear this in mind. |
