Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- A reading session on "Biography of Comrade Kim Jong Il" and a show of Korean film "75th Anniversary of the Heroic Korean People's Army" took place in Ethiopia on Dec. 1 on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army.
The chairperson of the Addis Ababa Youth Association of Ethiopia said at the reading session that Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il made distinguished contribution to building the powerful national defence industry and developing the KPA into an invincible army.
It is entirely thanks to Kim Jong Il who assumed the KPA supreme commandership that the Songun idea and leadership exploits of President Kim Il Sung have been successfully carried forward and the DPRK has turned into a world-leading military power, the chairperson said, adding:
The DPRK has squarely stood up to the United States, with tough counteractions. The secret of such attitude lies in the strong faith and pluck, matchless courage and will to annihilate the enemy, all of which Kim Jong Il, outstanding strategist and greatest-ever commander, is possessed
It is precious truth proven by the Songun politics that the only powerful national defence capability can reliably ensure peace and security.
