Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Monday says: What Lee uttered is an extremely treacherous act of challenging the demand of the era of independent reunification and the desire of the fellow countrymen as it betrays the intention of Lee to persistently stand in confrontation with the north with an eye to bring the inter-Korean relations to a collapse.

The "policy toward the north" touted by him with a noisy advertisement that he would do something big is a treacherous policy which can result in nothing but deteriorating the inter-Korean relations and straining the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the commentary notes, and goes on:

It is highly ridiculous of Lee to talk about a sort of "sincerity" while defending his "policy toward the north" with rhetoric about "consistency" and "principle." It is obvious that what the Lee group wants is not improved inter-Korean relations but their uncontrollable collapse.

Needless to say, his outbursts are a revelation of his ulterior intention to conceal the unpardonable crime he committed by pushing the inter-Korean relations to the phase of total stalemate and further deteriorate the present situation in a bid to start a war of aggression against the north. This once again brought to light the true colors of the Lee group as traitors blatantly challenging the demand of the times for independent reunification, peace and prosperity and the aspiration of the fellow countrymen.

The inter-Korean relations will never get rid of the present serious crisis as long as Lee insists on his anachronistic "policy toward the north," trumpeting about "principle" and the like.
