General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited Mts. Kuwol, Jongbang and Chilbo, Ryongmun Cavern and other famous mountains and scenic beauties of the country and instructed officials that they should be arranged well as places for people's cultural rest.

At Mt. Kuwol, he said that socialist patriotism is specific feelings stemming from valuing and loving each blade of grass and each tree of the country and at the newly discovered and arranged Songam Cavern that the cavern is a precious asset of the country to be handed down to the posterity.

Over the last 10-odd years, Mt. Chilbo, which had been neglected for thousands of years, has turned into one of the six celebrated mountains of the country and many noted mountains and beauty spots such as Ullim Falls, Kusul Falls, Pidan Falls, Ryukdam (six ponds) have been discovered only to be converted into wonderful sites for cultural rest and places for education in socialist patriotism.

The Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of City Management and the Ministry of Land and Environment Conservation, provinces, cities and counties across the country are exerting efforts on the education in socialist patriotism through noted mountains and scenic places while conducting colorful activities to broaden historical and cultural knowledge and common sense among the working people and school youth and children.

Guide maps of the Songam Cavern, Mt. Chilbo and other scenic beauties have been brought out this year and the project for updating the illumination of the Ryongmun Cavern is progressing apace so that the visitors can see the beauty spot better.

The looks of Moran Hill and Mt. Ryongak in Pyongyang, Sokdamgugok, Pakyon Falls, picturesque places of Mt. Jangsu and Mt. Paekun and other famous mountains and places have been changed radically so as to implant great pride of living in the socialist country in the minds of the visitors.
