Pyongyang, December 10 (KCNA) -- A "national meeting for judging Lee Myung Bak regime for rendering economy bankrupt and violating democracy" took place in Seoul on Dec. 6 under the co-sponsorship of the south Korean People's Council for Public Welfare and Democracy and the Emergency People's Action for Defending Democracy and Checking Suppression of Candlelight Struggle. Speakers at the meeting deplored that the south Korean society has been thrown into a general crisis in less than ten months of Lee Myung Bak's office. They charged that the Lee regime's "policy of killing the common people" has rendered the economy bankrupt and brought the people's living to the worst situation and its policy of confrontation with compatriots inciting a Cold War pushed the inter-Korean relations to collapse and put peace at peril. They demanded the regime drop its policy of reducing the taxes of the big businesses only, stop the moves for the retrogressive revision of "the law on broadcasting services" and the like and all members of the present cabinet, the arch criminal responsible for economic bankruptcy, step down. Meanwhile, youth organizations including the Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the south Korean Council of Youth Organizations and the Youth Committee of the Democratic Labor Party which participated in the meeting held an inaugural ceremony of the preparatory committee of the Youth Council for Public Welfare and Democracy on the same day and expressed the will to wage a struggle for judging the Lee regime for its treacherous and anti-reunification acts. |
