The resolution said that the Korean people have purposefully waged a struggle for accomplishing the cause of independence against imperialism, the cause of socialism even under the complicated international situation where the U.S. imperialists have perpetrated high-handed and arbitrary practices, aggression and intervention against the independent countries.

In the recent years the Korean people have achieved great successes in their efforts to increase the self-reliant defence capability, reenergize the national economy and hasten the independent reunification of the country under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea guided by the unique Songun politics of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, it noted, and stressed:

The communist and workers' parties from various countries of the world attending the tenth international meeting of those parties express support and solidarity with the Korean people in their just struggle for building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the leadership of the WPK, regarding it as an important link in the chain for defending and advancing the cause of independence against imperialism, the cause of socialism worldwide to positively support the Songun revolutionary cause of the Korean people.
