The speakers at the press conference laid bare the facts that the "Office of National Tax Administration" decided not to collect taxes on the income from interest gained by the U.S. forces in south Korea through the illegal accumulation of the funds for their upkeep under the pretext of "official purpose."

Recalling that the U.S. forces present in south Korea are free with money-lending and tax evasion, not content with diverting the funds for the upkeep of the U.S. forces, the money collected from the south Koreans as taxes, to an illegal purpose, they queried is it for "an official purpose." The measure taken by the authorities to exempt the U.S. forces from taxation is nothing but a lever to cover up their illegal acts.

A press release read out at the press conference declared that the organization would wage a vigorous struggle to force the above-said office to own a legal and political responsibility for its sycophantic and unwarranted decision and check the U.S. forces' illegal acts.
