They deployed units of tanks, 227mm multiple rocket launchers and 105mm artillery pieces in the area of Phaju City near the demilitarized zone in the wake of hurling hundreds of fully armed troops into the area of Ryonchon County on Dec. 10, thus fanning up war atmosphere.

155mm artillery units of the puppet army deployed in the above-said area on Dec. 10 fired more than 40 shells in the direction of the Military Demarcation Line. 105mm artillery units deployed in the area of Cholwon County of south Korean Kangwon Province on Dec. 11 fired at least 200 shells at random.

After occupying their combat positions in Phaju City and the area of Cholwon County of south Korean Kangwon Province on Dec. 10 and 11 many armed hooligans of the puppet army staged madcap exercises under the simulated conditions of an offensive operation against the DPRK, frantically firing more than 26,000 large-caliber machine gun and automatic rifle bullets.

On Dec. 9 hundreds of "commando units" of the puppet army conducted a war maneuver under the simulated conditions of carrying out observation, reconnaissance, assault, destruction and sabotage operations against strategic and tactical targets of the DPRK after intruding into their operational theatres.

Formations of helicopter gunships and fighters of the puppet army were busy with drills for striking targets, providing close air support and airlifting after flying into the air above the areas of Cholwon County and Hwachon County, south Korean Kangwon Province on Dec. 11 and 12.
