Youth Shock Brigade Activities Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- The youth shock brigade activities have been briskly conducted to make a breakthrough of advance in building an economic power this year. Over one million young people taking part in the activities achieved successes in production and construction by their devoted efforts. Members of the Cha Kwang Su Youth Shock Brigade at the Pyongyang Thermal-Power Complex voluntarily carried out the difficult tasks in overhauling generators and boilers and ensuring their normal operation. Those of the Kim Hyok youth shock brigades at the Chonsong and Sinchang youth coal mines overfulfilled their coal production assignments every month by carrying on continuous drilling and blasting. Members of the youth shock brigades at the Chollima Steel Complex and the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, who turned out in the projects for modernizing electric furnaces and setting up a large-size oxygen separator, greatly contributed to ensuring their smooth operation by making a breakthrough in such vast work as the disassembling of equipment and ground excavation and concrete tamping. The members of a youth shock brigade finished the construction of the Ryesonggang Youth Power Station No. 1 to start the output of electricity. The young people have also devoted their patriotic enthusiasm and efforts in projects for constructing such large-scale hydro-power stations as the Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station, the Wonsan Youth Power Station and the Orangchon Power Station and for building monumental edifices of the era such as the Miru Plain waterways and the reconstruction of Mansudae Street. Youth shock brigades for technical innovation were organized and have been operated at many industrial establishments and in cooperative farms. After all, more than one thousand pieces of valuable inventions were produced from among the youth. |
