U.S. Warlike Forces' Hard-line Military Policy toward DPRK Denounced

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- U.S. Congress in a recent report on the prevention of terrorism by use of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons urged the Obama government to make all efforts to deter North Korea from developing nuclear weapons, not ruling out direct actions including military measures. The report calls on the next U.S. Administration to regard it as its most important military thrust to take measures to prevent "possible terrorist acts" of the DPRK in the future.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

Needless to say, the report glaringly reveals the intention of the U.S. bellicose forces to step up their hard-line military policy toward the DPRK.

The U.S. seeks to justify its hegemonic policy of strength such as bolstering modern armed forces and, furthermore, escalating military actions for aggression under the pretext of the non-existent "threat of terrorism" from the DPRK.

The "military threat" from the DPRK on the lips of the U.S. bellicose forces is sheer fiction and sophism to justify their policy of aggression towards the DPRK and their reactionary "war on terrorism." The U.S. warmongers have stepped up the preparations for invading the DPRK while increasing the danger of war under the absurd pretexts of "military threat" and "southward invasion" by the DPRK for the last several decades since the ceasefire. Such moves have become evermore undisguised, gaining in new dimension under the pretext of "coping with possible terrorism" by the DPRK, since the outset of the new century.

Dialogue would help ease tension but escalated tension would only lead the hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S. to military conflicts. The DPRK-U.S. dialogues and the six-party talks that have been under way so far are all aimed to solve the issue through dialogue, not through confrontation. The prospect of the DPRK-U.S. relations will entirely depend on the U.S. attitude.

Should the U.S. warmongers continue pushing the DPRK-U.S. stand-off to an extreme phase, instead of rolling back their hostile policy to stifle the DPRK, this will only result in creating a situation unfavorable for the U.S.
