Struggle for Independence against U.S. Called for
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- If the south Korean people are to bring earlier national reunification while promoting the independent and democratic development of the society as required by the trend of the times, they should intensify the struggle for independence against the U.S., first of all.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a signed article.

It goes on:

The above-said struggle of the south Korean people is a just and patriotic struggle for putting an end to the U.S. policy of domination and military presence in south Korea and achieving independence, democracy and reunification and it is a requirement of their life.

The south Korean people are well aware through their life experience that the U.S. is neither "friend" nor "helper" nor "protector" but is the root cause of all sorts of misfortune and sufferings they have undergone.

The vigorous struggle for democracy against fascism being waged by the people from all walks of life in south Korea is closely linked with the struggle for independence against the U.S.

This struggle now under way in south Korea under the U.S. occupation and domination is a priority task for achieving social democracy. The struggle for democracy against fascism is an important factor of putting an end to the U.S. colonial domination and promoting the independence of the south Korean society. This indicates that only when the south Korean people combine the above-said two forms of struggle and dynamically wage both of them can they frustrate the moves of foreign forces and the Lee Myung Bak clique of traitors, their lackeys, against the nation and achieve the social justice and democratic development and accomplish the cause of national reunification.

It is foolish, indeed, to have an illusion about the U.S. or pin any hope on it, the article notes, calling for carrying on the struggle for independence against the U.S. till the U.S. military presence and domination over south Korea are brought to an end.
