Kim Jong Il Enjoys Art Performance Given by State Merited Chorus

Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il enjoyed an art performance given by the State Merited Chorus together with workers in Jagang Province. Among the audience were Pak To Chun, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Jang Song Thaek, department director of the C.C., WPK, Ju Kyu Chang and Ri Je Gang, first vice department directors of the same, and KPA Generals Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su and leading officials of the provincial-level organs. The chorus honored with Kim Il Sung Order put on the stage choruses "Song of General Kim Jong Il," "Song of the Korean People's Army," "The Road of Victory" and male solo and choruses "Desire of a Soldier" and "Song of Comradeship" and other numbers. The artistes sang high praises of the leadership exploits Kim Jong Il has performed in strengthening and developing the revolutionary armed forces and building a rich and powerful country, holding aloft the banner of Songun, and successfully represented the firm faith and will of the servicepersons and people of the DPRK to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche true to the leadership of the WPK. At the end of the performance he warmly waved back to the enthusiastically cheering performers and audience. He congratulated the artistes on their successful presentation. He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the artistes of the State Merited Chorus gave a splendid performance flawless in the ideological content and artistry as it is replete with the confidence and will of Korea and the revolutionary soldier spirit. He highly appreciated the successful performance and extended thanks to the artistes. The workers in Jagang Province, the creators of the Kanggye spirit, are the heroic workers who pulled through grave difficulties with the indomitable revolutionary spirit and persevering will, holding higher the red flag of the revolution during the "Arduous March," forced march when the country was undergoing the most rigorous trial, he noted, expressing great expectation and conviction that they would continue to play a vanguard role in the all-out charge for building a great prosperous powerful nation with the same spirit and mettle as they displayed in those days. |
