Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in Britain, Switzerland and Mongolia between Dec. 11 and 13 on the occasions of the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 91st birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. Displayed in the venues of the functions were photos showing the immortal revolutionary exploits of three generals of Mt. Paektu and introducing Songun Korea. Chairman Harpal Brar and Vice-Chairman Ella Rule of the C.C., the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) and Chairman Dermot Hudson of the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy said at a meeting that Kim Jong Suk, the incarnation of the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, reliably defended President Kim Il Sung politically and ideologically and at the risk of her life until the last moments of her life. She was an anti-Japanese war hero who devoted her all to the liberation of Korea, they stressed. They also said that it is thanks to Kim Jong Il, supreme commander of the KPA, that the DPRK could steadily advance the Songun revolutionary cause to victory. Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, said that Kim Jong Il's assumption of KPA supreme commandership was a historic landmark in the Songun revolution and an expression of all the Korean people's deep respect and trust in him. D. Bilegt, general secretary of the Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations of Mongolia, said that the kindergartens named after three generals of Mt. Paektu in Mongolia are a symbol of friendship between the two countries and that they would work hard for the development of the bilateral relations of friendship. Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings. |
