A reporter and speakers at the meetings noted that holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem as supreme commander of the Korean revolutionary armed forces marked the great auspicious event of the nation that reliably guaranteed the future destiny of the country and the people and a landmark event that guaranteed the future sure victory of the revolutionary cause of Songun.

Kim Jong Il possessed of extraordinary military wisdom and outstanding commanding art has developed the People's Army into the vanguard devotedly defending the leader and an invincible revolutionary army, thus putting the Juche-oriented cause of building army on a new higher stage, they said, and went on:

Kim Jong Il has prepared the youth and students as reliable successors to the revolutionary cause of Juche and true personnel in the Songun era by pursuing the politics of attaching importance to the youth as well as the politics of attaching importance to the army.

They called on all the youth and students to glorify their life through the worthwhile struggle to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution and to protect the country and build an economic power true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

A reporter and speakers at the meeting of agricultural workers noted that Kim Jong Il laid down an original policy of agricultural revolution and has led the People's Army to play a vanguard role in implementing the policy, thus bringing about a signal turn in the socialist rural construction and agricultural production.

They called for effecting innovations in the overall agricultural production by displaying ardent patriotic zeal and making devoted efforts.

Among those present at the meetings was Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jung Rin.
