Rodong Sinmun today observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

This is no more than the impertinent behavior of those steeped in inveterate hostility toward fellow countrymen and the idea of confrontation to the marrow of their bones.

The Lee Myung Bak group is talking this or that after poking their noses into the matter which they have nothing to do, a revelation of their sinister intention to stand in the way of settling any issue of fellow countrymen.

The U.S. announcement that the DPRK is a nuclear weapons state reflects the stark reality, the commentary notes, and goes on:

In a sense, the U.S. recognition of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state might provide the south Korean authorities with a justification and an occasion for making a switchover in the anachronistic "policy toward the north" shaped by them under the pretext of the nuclear issue.

The Lee Myung Bak group, however, are finding fault with that development, further escalating the inter-Korean confrontation. This clearly indicates that the Lee group do not want the reconciliation and unity, peace and reunification between the north and the south but intend to keep to the road of confrontation with fellow countrymen and war of aggression against the north, clinging to the coattails of the U.S.

Their preoccupation is to offend and do harm to fellow countrymen at any cost. It is, therefore, the height of folly for them to call for "dialogue."

The black-hearted intention of the Lee group and their wrong view on fellow countrymen go to prove that they have no will to truly have dialogue and cooperate with the north.

Those going against the trend of the times are fated to meet self-destruction.

The group would be well advised to face up to the reality and behave themselves.
