Important Days of DPRK Observed in Different Countries

Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place in Moscow on Dec. 22 under the co-sponsorship of the Communist Party of Soviet Union and the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK to mark the 17th anniversary of General Secretary
Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 91st birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

On display in the venue of the meeting were photos and books showing the undying feats of the three generals of Mt. Paektu.

Speeches were made there.

Vladimir Veredin, secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Soviet Union, said that the august names of Kim Il Sung, eternal president of the DPRK, and Kim Jong Il, supreme commander of the KPA, have become a symbol of hope for the world progressive people.

Kurilrova, member of the Central Committee of the party, said that Kim Jong Suk resolutely defended Kim Il Sung's idea and line, regarding them as absolute faith and devoted her all to their materialization, adding that her noblest feat is that she gave birth to and brought up the great leader capable of carrying forward Kim Il Sung's idea and cause through generations.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.

Meanwhile, lectures and film shows were held in South Africa, Pakistan and Ethiopia between Dec. 17 and 19.
