Resumption of DPRK-Japan Talks Called for

Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- The Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea sent a written request to the Japanese prime minister and foreign minister on Dec. 17 in which it demanded the resumption of the DPRK-Japan talks for normalizing the bilateral relations and others. The request urged the Japanese government to lift the sanctions against the DPRK, make economic compensation according to the agreement reached at the six-party talks and resume the talks for normalizing the relations. Representative members of the committee Zun Shimizu, Hirokazu Kitagawa and Setsuo Yoshihara urged the Japanese government to normalize Japan's relations with the DPRK as early as possible according to the Pyongyang Declaration and solve the issue of suppression of Koreans in Japan, part of its sanctions against the DPRK. |
