Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Wahid Al Uksouri, chairman of the Misr Arab Socialist Party of Egypt, released a statement on Dec. 14 last year on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army.
It was a noteworthy event in strengthening and developing the KPA to have had Kim Jong Il at the head of it, the statement said, and went on:
Under his Songun leadership the KPA has grown into an invincible army while defending the sovereignty and security of the country from the outsiders' moves for aggression and reliably ensuring the building of a great prosperous and powerful nation.
The KPA and the Korean people have made successes in their efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful nation and achieve the independent reunification of the country while meeting every challenge of the hostile forces, and demonstrated the might of Songun and the dignity of the nation, giving encouragement to the world progressive people.
We express solidarity with the KPA and the Korean people in their just struggle.
