Important Day of DPRK Observed in Uganda

Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held by the Lugazi Branch of the Uganda-DPRK Friendship Association, lectures were given by the Juche Idea Study Group of the Department of Teacher Education and Expansion and the Juche Idea Study Group of the Department of Psychology of Kyambogo University, Uganda, and a reading session on "Biography of Comrade Kim Jong Il" was held by the National Women's Council of Uganda in the period from December 18 to 22 last year on the occasions of the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 91st birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. Chairman of the Lugazi Branch of the Uganda-DPRK Friendship Association S. N. Serwanga who is secretary general of the African Regional Committee of Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People and other speakers said that the Korean people have firmly defended the sovereignty of the country and achieved great successes in building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation while valiantly repulsing all obstructions of the imperialists as they are wisely led by Kim Jong Il, peerlessly brilliant commander. Kim Jong Suk performed undying feats in the anti-Japanese war for the liberation of the country with arms in her hands and in the building of new Korea, they noted, adding that her desire is being successfully realized by Kim Jong Il. Auma-Okumu, head of the Juche Idea Study Group of the Department of Psychology of Kyambogo University, Uganda, in a lecture titled "Woman General of Mt. Paektu" said that Kim Jong Suk participated in the sacred war for national liberation led by President Kim Il Sung in her early years and defeated the Japanese imperialist aggressors with her extraordinary military wisdom, distinguished stratagem, matchless grit, excellent bravery and mysterious marksmanship and was highly revered as anti-Japanese war hero. |
