Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Saturday sent a message of greetings to Than Shwe, Chairman of the Myanmar State Peace and Development Council, on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the independence of the Union of Myanmar.
Kim in the message wished the chairman good health and happiness and success in his work for the stability and prosperity of the country, expressing belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Myanmar recently developing on good terms would expand on a full scale in all fields of politics, economy and culture in future.
