Pyongyang, January 7 (KCNA) -- A Moscow, Russia, preparatory committee for commemorating the Day of the Sun and celebrating February 16 was formed on Dec. 30 last year.
The committee was made up of 23 personages of various circles including Oleg Shenin, chairman of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and Dmitri Yazov, former defence minister of the Soviet Union, with Vladimir Tolstikov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, as its chairman.
The committee decided to hold colorful events such as commemoration and celebration meeting, meeting to remember President Kim Il Sung, symposium on exploits performed by the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and photo exhibition on the occasions of the significant Day of the Sun and the February holiday.
