Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- Harising Khang, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), released a statement on Jan. 2 in support of the joint New Year editorial issued by newspapers of the party, the army and the youth league in the DPRK.
In the statement he extended full support to the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people in the efforts to achieve the country's reunification under the slogan "Advance dynamically along the road of independent reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration!"
It is the unanimous desire of all the Korean people and the supreme task of the Korean nation to achieve the country's reunification independently and peacefully at an earlier date, the statement said, and went on:
We maintain that the spirit of "By our nation itself", which ushered in the June 15 era of reunification by turning the north-south relationship of distrust and confrontation that lasted in the Korean Peninsula over half a century into that of reconciliation and unity, is the noble patriotic spirit for bringing earlier the independent reunification, peace and prosperity.
We wish the WPK and the Korean people fresh success in their struggle to realize the country's reunification independently and peacefully by achieving the national reconciliation and unity, an urgent task in the movement for the reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
