Pyongyang, January 9 (KCNA) -- Colliers across the country are turning out in the campaign to carry out the tasks set forth in the joint New Year editorial, holding high the torch of a new revolutionary upsurge. The Sunchon Area Youth Coal Complex is launching a general offensive for increasing the coal production in collieries with abundant coal deposits and favorable hewing conditions, while reinforcing coal hewing labor and giving priority to the supply of facilities and materials. The February 8 Jiktong Youth Coal Mine and the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine are speeding up the tunneling rate through continuous drilling and blasting in pits with a good production prospect. Efforts are being made also in the Pukchang and Tokchon Area Coal Complexes to provide larger quantities of coal to thermal power plants. Collieries under the complexes have arranged many reserve coal-cutting faces in the pits with favorable hewing and transport conditions and raised the operation rate of coal-cutting and transport facilities, thus overfulfilling coal production quotas from the outset of the year. The Kaechon Area Coal Complex is also registering successes in production by operating coal-cutting facilities, tram cars and coal hutches in full capacity. The new year march has been joined by the Onsong Area Coal Complex, Myongchon Area Coal Complex and other area coal fields and minor coal mines with bold targets to increase coal output. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Coal Industry organizes down to details the operation and command for sending larger quantities of coal to thermal power plants and industrial establishments, directing deep attention to the work of supplying cutting-face facilities, prop-timber and various accessory parts. Coal production is on the steady increase thanks to the devoted efforts of the coal miners throughout the country who are well aware of their mission in taking in charge of the lifeline of the economic development. |
