Born into a poor peasant's family in the period of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea, she had to lead a bitter life as a member of the ruined nation, being subject to all sorts of maltreatment and contempt. It was only after President Kim Il Sung liberated the country that she could lead a worthwhile life as a human being.

She worked hard to increase the grain production for many years and makes herself busy even after she became a pensioner.

She always keeps herself in good health as she is optimistic without having unbalanced diet.
