It is the unanimous faith and will of the fellow countrymen in the north and the south to achieve national reunification independently by their concerted efforts in the spirit of "By our nation itself" enshrined in the June 15 joint declaration and the Oct. 4 declaration, the article notes, and goes on:

The most important task facing the Korean nation this year is to vigorously advance the June 15 era of reunification by foiling the Lee Myung Bak group's moves for confrontation with the DPRK and reenergizing the national reunification movement under the slogan "Advance dynamically along the road of independent reunification under the banner of the June 15 Joint Declaration and the October 4 Declaration!" put up by the joint editorial.

It is beyond doubt that the national reunification movement will make a dynamic advance and big progress will be made in the June 15 era of reunification when all fellow countrymen wage an uninterrupted stubborn struggle with a do-or-die determination and will to shatter the anti-reunification and confrontational moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad and bring the day of independent reunification without fail under the banner of the inter-Korean joint declarations.

The cause of independent reunification is sure to be accomplished as the above-said declarations which serve as declarations of national independence and great national unity and great programmes for national reunification indicate the way of achieving national reunification and the countrymen support them and have the strong faith and will to implement them.

All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should turn out as one full of confidence in a sacred struggle to achieve national unity on the principle of national independence, smash all sorts of moves of the anti-reunification forces and accomplish the cause of national reunification at any cost through their concerted efforts.
