The International Association of Athletics Federations-the 22nd Mangyongdae Prize Marathon and the 18th International Figure Skating Festival for Paektusan Prize are to be held amid the interests of sports experts and fans on the respective occasions of the significant Day of the Sun and the auspicious February holiday.

The DPRK soccer team will match with its rivals of the Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Iran in the Asian final preliminaries for FIFA 2010 World Cup from February.

The 23rd Pyongyang International Invitational Table Tennis Tournament will be held in August.

There will be national sports contests such as the Paektusan Prize Sports Contest (February), the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest (April), the Pochonbo Torch Prize Sports Contest (June), the National Combined Sports Contest among Provinces (June), the 12th National Jongilbong Prize Taekwon-Do Championships (June), the Jonsung Cup Sports Contest (July), the DPRK Championships (September) and the Osandok Prize Sports Contest (December).
