Siham Ahmad Mugahed, chairman of the Egypt-Korea Friendship Association, noted in the statement that the joint editorial called upon all the Korean people to reenergize the national reunification movement under the slogan "Advance dynamically along the road of independent reunification under the banner of the June 15 Joint Declaration and the October 4 Declaration!"

We regard the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration as the milestone for Korea's reunification based on the idea of "By our nation itself" and the October 4 declaration as the inspiring banner accelerating the Korean nation's independent development and reunification and an action programme for completely implementing the June 15 joint declaration, the statement said.

The cause of Korea's reunification is sure to be realized thanks to the principle of independence advanced by Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, it said, expressing the firm belief that under his wise leadership the Korean people will certainly reunify the country holding high the banner of "By our nation itself" despite the separatist forces' persistent obstruction.

Chairman Ali Aksad and Secretary General Kamal Hyder of the Bangladesh Peace Council said in their statements that Korea's reunification is the key to ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula. And they expressed the expectation that all the Korean people in the north and the south and overseas would more vigorously turn out in the struggle to reunify the country by their concerted efforts.
