Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- The general secretary of the National Progressive Unionist Party of Egypt released a statement on Jan. 12 in support of the DPRK's joint New Year editorial, in which he called upon all the progressive forces in the world to lift up voices of solidarity with the Korean people to help them realize their desire for reunification as early as possible.
Saying that the joint editorial published on the occasion of the New Year, 2009 serves as a banner of struggle as it clearly indicates the tasks to be carried out by the Korean people this year, the statement expressed the belief that they would work new miracles this year in the spirit of Chollima that startled the world under the Songun leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
It extended solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts to achieve the reunification of the country independently and peacefully by their concerted efforts under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
The statement expressed hope that the Korean people would register greater successes in the efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful nation and achieve the reunification of the country under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.
