The activities and efforts of the DPRK government with the independence, peace and friendship as the fundamental ideal of its foreign policy have already proved its validity and vitality through practice.

The DPRK has judged and dealt with all issues arising in the external relations since its foundation from the viewpoint of independence, respected the sovereignty of other countries and rendered full support to the people of all nations in their just cause for defending their national interests and sovereignty.

It is entirely thanks to the peace-loving efforts of the DPRK government that peace has been kept on the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. imperialists and their followers have shipped huge amounts of war hardware into the Korean Peninsula in a systematic way and staged dangerous war exercises against the north in an attempt to unleash another war by aggravating the military confrontation in this region at any cost.

However, the enemy's sinister attempt has been smashed into smithereens by the principled struggle of the DPRK government which has defended socialism firmly by dint of arms.

The DPRK is furthering good-neighborly and friendly relations with all nations of the world on the basis of the principle of independence and international justice. It has also made efforts to improve and normalize relations with those countries which had been hostile in the past, if they respect its sovereignty and give up their hostile policy.

Thanks to the strenuous and consistent efforts of the DPRK government, many countries and progressive people around the world come to understand and support the revolutionary cause of the Korean people and the trend to establish diplomatic relations and develop friendly and cooperative relations with it is growing further in the international community day by day.
