Ro Yong Jin, vice-chairman of the confederation and chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in Moscow City, and other speakers noted with high appreciation that it was entirely thanks to General Secretary Kim Jong Il's experienced and seasoned leadership that the people in the homeland could win one victory after another under the banner of Songun last year.

They called upon the officials of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia and the Koreans in Russia to keep pace with the people in the homeland who turned out in the worthwhile struggle.

They declared that the Koreans living in foreign countries would devote all efforts to the struggle for bringing earlier the independent and peaceful reunification of the country, keenly aware of the responsibility they have assumed to further reenergize the national reunification movement under the slogan "Advance dynamically along the road of independent reunification under the banner of the June 15 Joint Declaration and the October 4 Declaration!"
