This barbarous action caused a shocking incident in which inhabitants there were mercilessly killed while struggling to have their right to existence met.

In this connection, civic and public organizations and opposition parties including the Democratic Party and the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea bitterly denounced the puppet authorities' brutal repressive operation.

A rally for condemning Lee Myung Bak and honoring the memory of victims took place in the place where the above-said murder was committed with members of civic and public organizations of all social standings, youth and students and citizens, more than 5,000 in all, attending.

Speakers at the rally accused the Lee regime of driving the evacuees in the worst condition to death and demanded that those responsible for the incident be sternly judged.

At the end of the rally, the participants occupied roads before staging a candlelight demonstration and offering strong resistance against the riot police.

Meanwhile, those evacuees who participated in a sit-in strike on the scene of the incident and members of civic and public organizations including the Association of Evacuees and the Association of the Poor of south Korea condemned the Lee "government" and the police for committing the murder.

The Committee of Emergency Measures against the Brutal Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan held a news conference at which it assailed the puppet group for its barbarous murder of evacuees.

A press release read out at the news conference urged Lee to kneel down before the people and make an apology for the murder and immediately step down. It also warned that in case the "government" and the police persist in their shameful attitude, they will meet the all-out resistance of people from all walks life.

The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the Emergency Measure Committee for Foiling the Case Cooked Up against the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration and the Action Headquarters of the 17th-term south Korean Federation of University Student Councils separately issued statements denouncing the Lee Myung Bak puppet regime's murder of evacuees.
