Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- Some days ago the south Korean "public prosecutor general" branded the just candlelight demonstrations staged by people last year as "illegal and violent" while crying out for "rooting out the pro-north leftist forces". He also blustered that "the establishment of a basic order for freedom and democracy" is the "most essential precondition for weathering economic difficulties". The minister of "Justice" and the director of the "Intelligence Service" vied with each other to shout hoarse that establishing a stringent "security system should be a precondition for "economic recovery" and "illegal acts should be strongly dealt with." Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Thursday says in a signed commentary: Their reckless remarks mean that economy can be saved from a crisis only through the suppression of the people's struggle against Lee Myung Bak's unpopular misrule. This is no more than sheer sophism which can be let loose only by those hell-bent on treachery and fascism. Their outbursts are a crafty and base plot to shift the blame for the serious economic crisis caused by their treacherous policy onto the people, the victims of it. What merits a more serious attention is that the Lee group has disclosed its ulterior intention to ruthlessly block the massive advance of the people from all walks of life calling for independence, democracy and reunification under the pretext of tiding over the "economic crisis". The reality goes to clearly prove that the Lee Myung Bak regime is busy talking about "economic recovery" but, in actuality, it is no more than a "pragmatic fascist regime" keen to seek a way out in intensifying the fascist dictatorship, hell-bent only on "violating democracy and suppressing the reunification movement" and "deteriorating the people's living". Fascist dictatorship can never be justified. Dictatorship is by no means a cure-all but the last-ditch effort of those driven into a tight corner. No matter how desperately the Lee group tries to intensify fascist dictatorship, it is destined to go to ruin. |
