Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- A Guinean preparatory committee for commemorating the Day of the Sun and the February 16, the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, and a Kuwait preparatory committee for celebrating February 16 were formed with due ceremonies on Jan. 15.
Riyad Chaloub, chairman of the Guinean National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, and Yousef Al Amiri, president of the Kuwait House of Works, were elected chairmen of the committees at the ceremonies.
The Guinean preparatory committee set a commemoration period from January 17 to April 17 and decided to hold colorful political and cultural events in the period.
Meanwhile, the Kuwait preparatory committee decided to hold different political and cultural events on the occasion of the February holiday.
