Speakers at the rally declared they came to the rally unable to repress the towering resentment at the savage murder of evacuees perpetrated by the Lee Myung Bak "government."

They went on: "If this situation is allowed to go on, all the people will be killed. Everybody should be vigilant in this tragic land where fellow countrymen are beaten to death."

"We cannot remain crying only. To struggle is the only way of honoring the memory of the slain evacuees whose bodies were torn to shreds, their eyes remaining unclosed with grudge. We will carry on our struggle to punish the murderers without fail."

They recalled that upon hearing the news of the murder of innocent evacuees high school students organized the "Emergency Measure Committee of Youth and Children for the Evacuees in Ryongsan", adding that they would wage a joint struggle to let the people know about the truth about the incident and encourage the evacuees.

The rally was followed by a demonstration.
