The bulletin said in an article that the Korean people together with other progressives of the world are celebrating the birthday of Kim Jong Il as the greatest national jubilee.

Socialist Korea has achieved only victories by standing the severe test of history, the bulletin noted, adding that these have been possible thanks to the devoted services he has rendered, dedicating his all to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people.

Kim Jong Il has devoted himself to protecting the dignity of the country and the sovereignty of the nation, the bulletin said, and continued:

Kim Jong Il is totally dedicated to the people's happiness and the prosperity of the country.

A great change is taking place in the life of the Korean people thanks to the long journeys of devoted service he has made to mix with people and bring happiness to them.

He has energetically worked to achieve national reunification, the cherished desire of the nation, regarding it as his noble mission.

It was thanks to his bold decision that a north-south summit took place in June, 2000, 55 years after the division of Korea, the June 15 joint declaration, a milestone of its reunification, was published and the Oct. 4 declaration, a programme for implementing it, was adopted in October, 2007.
