Adherence to Anti-Imperialist Independent Stand Called for

Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- The people's struggle for achieving independence in the new century is facing a stern trial and great difficulties and peaceful development is being obstructed. This is attributable to the moves of the imperialists and the traitors to the nations, their lackeys, to bring down the anti-imperialist independent governments and set up instead pro-U.S., pro-Western regimes and thus reduce their people to colonial slaves who meekly obey them and realize their unchallenged ambition for domination.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes this in a signed article.

It is very important to meet the challenges of the above-mentioned forces in order to achieve the independent development of countries and nations and make the whole world independent.

The imperialists' maneuvers against independence and peace will go on as long as they exist. That is why the popular masses should carry on the struggle for accomplishing the cause of independence generation after generation.

Any illusion about the working class enemies in the acute struggle decisive of the fate of the popular masses is as harmful as poison and any concession and compromise lead to capitulation and death.

As long as imperialism exists, the popular masses' cause of independence and cause of building an independent and peaceful new world can never come true. Therefore, a stubborn struggle should be waged till imperialism has been completely eliminated from the surface of the earth.

Those who are acting cat's paws of the imperialists after betraying the country and nation are working class enemies and the target of the merciless working class struggle without exception.

The working class enemies are most afraid of the unity and make desperate efforts to break it. When the popular masses ensure unity and cohesion, the working class enemies will dare not provoke them.

These enemies are sharpening their swords to stamp out the popular masses' cause of independence and topple down the progressive governments and social systems, watching for a chance to do so. If they slacken their vigilance against the working class enemies even a moment, they will not be able to dodge the guns leveled at them by the latter. That is why the popular masses should tightly hold their arms either in hard times or in peaceful days.

It is the truth of history that the anti-imperialist independent forces will win and the hegemonic forces will suffer a defeat in the acute confrontation between them.
