Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were awarded to intellectuals who made fresh successes in the scientific research and the education of younger generation on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
In the awarding ceremony held on Thursday, the title of candidate academician was awarded to Kim Wang Sop, researcher of the Academy of Social Sciences.
The title of professor was awarded to Kim Myong Sok, chief of a department of Kim Jong Suk University of Education, Pak Kon Sik and Ho Jun Sop, heads of departments of Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering, Han Tong Hyok, researcher of the State Academy of Sciences, Choe Hui Nam, researcher of Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences, and others.
Degree of doctor was conferred on Ri Jae Gyong and Ri Wan Sop, researchers of the Chollima Steel Complex, Jon Kwang Hye, researcher of the Sunchon Vinalon Complex, Jo Kwang, chief of a department of Kim Il Sung University, and others. Degree of associate professor was awarded to 73 persons.
