The letter wrote that the office bitterly denounces the reality of south Korea, in which trade unionists are being arrested and detained in prison, as unpardonable.

We demand that the south Korean "government" respect the elementary rights of workers and immediately release the arrested unionists, it said, and went on:

The south Korean "government" is now escalating the provocative moves against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the area of the Military Demarcation Line.

It must stop all its provocative moves against the DPRK, including military exercises, at once and withdraw the foreign troops from south Korea.

We strongly urge the south Korean authorities to drop their anti-DPRK policy and turn to the road for peaceful reunification of Korea.
