Conducted by the commander of the unit, Kim Jong Il looked round the room dedicated to the unit's history.

Recollecting with deep emotion the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung closely linked with the history of the unit, he noted that the unit could grow to be an invincible large combined unit made up of a-match-for-a-hundred combined and other units under the wise guidance and meticulous care of the President.

He praised the unit for having well furnished the history room and conducted brisk education through it, underscoring the need to intensify the education in virtues to help servicepersons always remember the deep benevolence of the President.

He read the records of victories showing the course of shining feats covered by the unit.

He highly appreciated the exploits of the unit, saying that it has a long history as it has performed great feats in defence of the country and socialist construction up to now from the days of the hard-fought war by displaying unrivaled patriotic devotion and popular heroism for the party and the leader, the country and the people.

He learned about the unit's performance of duty and praised all its servicepersons for having performed their guard duties in a responsible manner while sharply watching the moves of the enemies for aggression. And he advanced highly important tasks to be fulfilled by the unit to increase its combat capability in every way.

Then he went round an operation study room and a shooting hall to acquaint himself with the training of commanding officers.

Expressing great satisfaction over the fact that the unit well furnished the military study rooms and has conducted training in an effective way to prepare all the commanding officers as competent officers possessed of high abilities to organize and command operations and combats, he stressed that the revolutionary habit of training should be thoroughly established to make all the commanding officers acquire the commanding ability as required by modern warfare.

He also made the rounds of a library and other facilities for ideological and cultural education to learn in detail about how the political work has been conducted among servicepersons.

Pleased to learn that the said facilities have been well furnished to suit the characters of servicepersons, the political work is being done in a fresh and profound way and all the servicepersons fully enjoy a cultural and emotional life, he underlined the need to always give priority to the ideological work.

It is very good that all servicepersons of the unit are studying hard as avid readers, he said, highly appreciating the revolutionary habit of reading established at the unit.

Walking round the compound of the command, he acquainted himself with the management of the unit.

The unit has made signal progress in its management and all other aspects, to say nothing of the combat and political training, he noted, highly estimating the achievements made by the unit over the past years.

He had a photo session with servicepersons of the unit.
