Suppression of Hanchong Slashed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions released a statement on Feb. 2 denouncing the puppet group for its crackdown upon the south Korean Council of Youth Organizations (Hanchong.)

The statement charged that the Lee Myung Bak regime committed one more crime against democracy by instigating the Supreme Court to define Hanchong as an "enemy-benefiting organization" by dint of the notorious "National Security Law" on Jan. 30.

The present authorities are following the evildoings conducted by the successive dictatorial regimes to crack down upon the population by use of such violent mechanisms as the prosecution and the police, it pointed out.

It said that the said crackdown upon Hanchong, which has worked to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, goes to prove once again the anti-reunification nature of the Lee Myung Bak regime.

Noting that the NSL, an evil law, has already had no reason to exist, it declared that the confederation would fight against the regime's outrages.

Meanwhile, members of civic and public organizations in south Korea called a news conference in Seoul on the same day at which they protested the unreasonable judgment on Hanchong.
